Application for Controlled Access to Remote Documents for Microsoft Windows

Cieľom tejto práce je navrhnúť, implementovať a otestovať klientskú aplikáciu pre Microsoft Windows, ktorá bude zabezpečovať prístup k vzdialeným dokumentom pre projekt VDU. Aplikácia je naprogramovaná v jazyku C++ s použitím objektovo orientovanej knižnice MFC, rozhrania WinFsp pre integráciu virtuálneho súborového systému a rozhrania Windows API. Aplikácia k serveru pristupuje cez REST API a je testovaná s využitím vytvoreného simulovaného serveru a testovacieho skriptu, napísaných v programovacom jazyku Python.

Main goal of this thesis is to create disassembler for Visual Basic 6 binary .exe files. There is description of Portable Executable files, description of disassembler, as well as functions of Windows API calls. Visual Basic disassembler should provide as much information about Visual Basic 6 file as possible. There is detailed structure specification of Visual Basic 6 binary files.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the monitoring principles of the system devices in the environment of the Microsoft Windows Operating System. The emphasis is placed on the system services and functions which are utilizable for the system resources monitoring. Some aspects related to their functioning are discussed and specified. The implementation part is represented by an application for the system monitoring based on these services and functions. The evaluation of the work and a possible extension is mentioned in the conclusion.

Programming Activity Tracking System

The thesis is concerned with the subject of systems designed for monitoring the activity of programmers with respect to legal, technical and technological aspect. It ponders on the role and condition of such systems in the present-day legislation and focuses on the definition of the boundaries that distinguish the monitoring system from its illegal version. The paper also deals with the options concerning monitoring of processes and users' activities within Microsoft Windows systems using technologies included in .NET Framework. The thesis further analyses the possibilities of information transmission from the monitored station to the processing server by means of standard protocols designed for transmission and identifies potential threats associated. The UML modelling language is used to describe design and architecture of the implemented solution.

The topic of this thesis is to display and compare structured files in Altap Salamander application. The aim is to create a plug-in capable of viewing and comparing XML and JSON file formats. This thesis explains the motivation behind creating the plug-in, its functional requirements, the process of designing the plug-in, its implementation and subsequent testing. An important part of this thesis is also the theoretical foundation of the algorithm used to compare XML files.

Defeating Ransomware By Hooking System Calls On Windows Os

This paper explains why ransomware needs to use the Windows API to encrypt files andhow this can be utilized to protect sensitive data from ransomware. Critical API functions are examinedon a low level and a generic method to monitor and possibly block their usage through systemcall hooks is presented. This approach is then demonstrated with a custom kernel mode driver whichcan keep protected files safe from any user mode malware. It is then compared to current ransomwareprotection in Windows 10.
